SuperAnalog808 - info

What is Round Robin?

This is a function of some samplers where you can alternate between a number of different samples when a drum sound is triggered. I think this a good way to help capture the movement and feel of analog drum machines.

Will 96 kHz samples work in 44.1 kHz projects?

Short answer... Yes they will.

Long answer... DAWs and software samplers have real time sample rate converters. So it won't matter what sample rate your samples are at. Of course if your project is running at 96 kHz then these samples will certainly sound much better!

What does the product contain?

1168 x 24 bit / 96 kHz wav files

Instrument patches for: Battery 3, Guru, EXS24, Kontakt 3

Patches make use of extensive Round Robin mapping for a more analog feel.

Also includes tuned Chromatic BD and Conga patches (Kontakt, EXS24, Battery)

What kind of outboard was used for sweetening?

Great River Harrison 32 EQ, A-Design EM-PEQ, Kush Audio UBK Fatso, Mutronics Mutator,

Crowther Audio - Prunes & Custard, Malekko - B:Assmaster, Boss - Dimension C

Are there 808 drum samples without extra processing?

Yes indeed. I have included a large number of raw samples.

Is the SuperAnalog808 better than the Tape808?

Yes and no. I think they have different strengths.

The Tape808 has got that lovely old school tape vibe and a huge palette of 808 sounds.

The SuperAnalog808 has 96Hz sample rate, Round Robin and tasty analog outboard sweetening.

You will need the full Retail version of Kontakt 3 or 4 to use the Kontakt patches. This product will only work in demo mode in the free Kontakt Player.
